This week we were assigned to do a glass tower. Environment work had always been my weakest point, I struggle to focus on piece that looks messy without a clean linework, I find myself starting over again as soon as the work look muddy. I used a lot of texture brushes to do the grass, water, cloud and rocks. as for the glass tower, I used a Gray background to locate the glass which I did lowered the opacity down when I’m done painting the shadows, lights, and the flower within the glass.
This final piece of work was very challenging, as there’s a lot of different material and refences needed to be use. Nonetheless, I have learned a lot from it, I have learned that using the right brushes for right task will help with the workflow and saves a lot of time, Hue gives me the control over colour of the layer; Opacity can help creating the illusion of a see-through glass.
